Better Than Cash Alliance Toolkits
The UN-housed Better Than Cash Alliance (BTCA) will launch three new toolkits designed to help governments, companies and international organizations plan their shift from cash to digital payments. Produced in partnership with Bankable Frontier Associates (BFA), the toolkits map the process of transitioning from cash or paper-based systems to digital, and show how to calculate the costs and benefits of using electronic options. Leaders in business, government and development organizations who are champions of the effort to increase the efficiency and scale of digital payments are encouraged to participate, as are consultants who could use the toolkits to support these stakeholders.
Speaker: Ruth Goodwin-Groen, Managing Director, Better Than Cash Alliance
MicroSave DBT Readiness Assessment Toolkit
MicroSave is working across the globe on government to people (G2P) payments. Alongside the Indian government, MicroSave was involved in the initial attempts at digitization and Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT). On the basis of the learning, MicroSave developed a DBT Readiness Assessment tool which looks holistically at the environment for direct benefit transfer and the current status of different players / systems and the gaps, if any, which may impede the roll-out of DBT. The tool is used by a variety of ministries in India to facilitate digitization and direct benefit transfers.
Speaker: Manoj Sharma, Director, MicroSave
Net Hope & USAID’s Transitioning to Electronic Payments Toolkit
This toolkit was created for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and development organizations to guide them in their journey of transitioning from using cash payments to electronic payments in all operations and program payment streams. It is intended to provide a practical step-by-step process that provides guidance, resources, key tools, and use cases organizations can use to guide them in adopting electronic payments.
Speaker: Joey Mendoza, Senior Advisor, Payments Innovation, NetHope
