Alex Kweku Sackey is a Digital Payments Specialist supporting Anglophone Africa at the Alliance, leading strategic engagements across Ghana, and plays a key role in advising governments and stakeholders in the Anglophone region on inclusive and sustainable digital financial ecosystems. He brings over two decades of cross-sector experience spanning development finance, digital transformation, corporate banking, and fintech partnerships. His expertise lies in combining policy advisory with practical implementation across diverse sectors, including agriculture, technology, telecommunications, and financial services. Before joining the Alliance, He held senior leadership roles at Zenith Bank Ghana, including Head of Digital & Agency Banking, where he spearheaded pioneering innovations in mobile banking, fintech partnerships, and e-commerce, that drove financial inclusion and digital adoption across the country. Kweku has also served as an international consultant to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, supporting the development of national strategies for digital payments and trade. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Development Policy Analysis and a BA in Agricultural Economics & Economics from the University of Nottingham, where he also served as Students’ Union President. A passionate advocate for financial empowerment, Kweku enjoys traveling across continents, exploring cultures, and using his platform to promote inclusive growth through innovation.
