Mr. Hassan Abdalla comes with an outstanding professional expertise that extends for more than 40 years, during which he held a number of vital leading positions, and accomplished many successes, as he fundamentally contributed to the team that implemented Egypt’s prominent banking reform programme in the early 2000s.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Hassan Abdalla held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of “United Media Services Company” since May 2021, and was the CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab African International Bank (AAIB), where he commenced his career in 1982.

Mr. Abdalla served as a board member for the Central Bank of Egypt, for eight years, as well as the Egyptian Stock Exchange. He also chaired the Union de Banques Arabes et Françaises (UBAF) in Hong Kong, and was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “We Owe It to Egypt” Foundation. Moreover, he was a board member of the International Institute of Finance (IIF), a member of the Board of Directors of London Africa Advisory Group (LAAG), London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), and the Emerging Markets Advisory Council (EMAC), alongside his membership in a number of major investment companies’ Boards of Directors.

In addition to the above, Mr. Hassan Abdalla was a founding member of the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council, the founder and Chairman of the Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB), as well as a board member of the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI).

Further to his substantial professional experience, Mr. Abdalla enjoys extensive experience in academia, which includes being part of the faculty of Finance at the American University in Cairo for the last 30 years, and is a member of the Strategic Advisory Board at the School of Business Administration at the American University in Cairo.

Mr. Hassan Abdalla obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University in 1982, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the same university in 1992.
