Better Than Cash Governance
The Better Than Cash Alliance operates under the following governance structure:
Secretariat
The Better Than Cash Alliance Secretariat is hosted by the United Nations Capital Development Fund and follows transparent and accountable UN processes.
Based in New York, Dr. Ruth Goodwin-Groen is the Alliance’s Managing Director, leading a team of UN staff members and consultants based in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee has primary responsibility for the governance of the Better Than Cash Alliance. The Committee reflects the interests of governments, companies and international organizations and is driven by a commitment to provide the resources and collaboration needed to achieve the Alliance’s goals. It follows core principles of integrity, respect and collective accountability.
Member Services Committee
The Member Services Committee is responsible for the approval and selection of accelerated service members, the selection of accelerated services to be provided, and the approval of the respective budget.
Editorial and Publications Committee
The Editorial and Publications Committee has responsibility for ensuring that the Alliance’s publications are rigorous and cutting edge. The Committee consists of both internal and external experts with deep knowledge across all aspects of digital payments.
