Despite the progress in digital readiness, innovation in digital infrastructure, and the positive trend in mobile phone and internet banking, challenges to adopting digital payments persist in Pakistan. Cash transactions still dominate most payments and connectivity, mistrust, or misunderstanding of the taxation system appear as key barriers.

The Better Than Cash Alliance, in support of its member, the Government of Pakistan, and the State Bank of Pakistan, presents Realizing the Promise of Responsible Digital Payments for Merchants in Pakistan.
