Country Diagnostic: Colombia
Case Study published January 1, 2015
Development Results Focused Research Program
This diagnostic measures the current state of the transition to electronic payments by estimating volumes and values of payments made in Colombia, as well as assessing the likelihood of further movement by looking at payment use cases associated with each key shift. In so doing, the diagnostic also identifies specific examples of attempts to shift to electronic payments that could generate lessons for Better Than Cash Alliance stakeholders in other contexts. It also identifies gaps in the available data — the filling of which could give valuable insights for designing and monitoring further efforts to shift.
